Jellyfin for Android is the official companion app for phones and tablets. Rather than reimplementing the interface, it wraps the same Jellyfin Web client used by every server, so browsing, search, and library layout stay identical to what you’d see in a desktop browser, while Android gets native touches on top: local audio and video playback, Chromecast support, notifications, and Quick Connect login.
Because it’s a thin wrapper around the web client rather than a fully native rewrite, most fixes and new features land in Jellyfin Web first and reach this app automatically.
